CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) -- A Clark County football team could receive a state of the art field, but they need some help.
George Rogers Clark High School has received a grant for a new artificial turf surface.
The grant covers $700,000 dollars in costs.
But the district has to raise $300,000 dollars in order to get the grant.
Right now, the district doesn't know if it will fund the project so football coach Steve Collins is asking the community for donations.
"At $300,000 when you add in irrigation, painting, mowing, paying somebody to mow it, lining it off with field paint its probably gonna pay for itself in a year or two," said Collins.
The turf will take five weeks to install.
Coach Collins hopes to have it ready in time for the team's first home game on August 30th.
